11/6/06 Chicago, IL - Another great weekend! This one was special since I flew to Pittsburgh, PA to see an old friend of mine
play at Moondog's. The old friend is James Cotton and I had a great time revisiting with him. His band is my backing band so it was rockin'! What a great little bar;
I was kind of shcked to see James playing there but he packed it and rocked the house. James is 72 years old, I was very impressed how well he plays - he is amazing!
I got up there and jammed with the band which influenced James into telling me that I am the future of Blues - I'm carrying the torch for harmonica players. Damn! I don't know about
that but I told him that he gave me a bunch of new licks to steal.
If you have the chance - go see James Cotton; he is terrific and a very humble man.
The Commitments show was rockin'! The audience did not expect to have a band like us open for them. We had 45 minutes to do our show and we were hitting it from the beginning! The Commitments they...we're nice. It seemed like they
were still caught up in the final scene from the movie. Needless to say...they had a wealthy crowd and that is all that clubs care about.
10/17/06 Chicago, IL - Last week seemed like a party...and it was. Detox time! How about those Bears?! Denny Green can kiss my ass! Wow!!!
It's a great week to have a birthday! If we only had a Chicago Baseball Team in the playoffs. Anyway, we will be playing at the House of Blues this Saturday night, my actual birthday, along with The Commitments.
It is going to be a rockin' good time! You need to be there. If not, there's always B.L.U.E.S. on Sunday night (10/22/06) where they will be having a birthday party for yours truly. It's always great to get together with friends.
Long live the blues,
Cadillac Dave
3/7/06 Chicago, IL - It has been some time before my last confession. A number of good things have happened since December 2004...and I still do not have a new CD out. That is about to change!
The finances for the sophomore compact disc have been obtained and it is now time to party! There will be special guests performing with the band on originals and new tunes. I'm thinking the ratio will be
50/50 but that could change.
12/30/04 Chicago, IL - The new year brings in fresh blood to the band, The Les Getrex Band. Les Getrex from New Orleans joins the band as a new featured guitar slinger. Les
has five CD's to his credit and performs every Tuesday night at The Kingston Mines with his own band. He adds some new spice to the band; a redhot flava Louisiana
Tobasco style. After all the blues migration started down there and worked its way up Highway 61 to Chicago, it's only fitting that Les found his way into our band.
Rumour has it that we will be playing at the 6th Annual Chicago Wng Fest this year. This will make our fourth appearance at this great event which will be
held at Plumbers Hall on the cities Near Westside. It will be a great event...don't miss it. Tickets are available at wingfest.net.
